Kansas
I know, I know... It has been a while. Needless to say, I have been busy, hurt, and the last month got away from me. Where did I leave off...., ohh right. Kansas. Racing bikes.
Not a good picture.
Luckily I had no TBI and or neck damage. I guess there is a first for everything in life. It was the first time I had ever been in a hospital in Kansas with no id, no money, and just in spandex.
This was a day before shake out ride. There were 5k racers for Unbound. Such a cool event.

Great visit with GR
We all enjoyed a great visit from Grandpa GR this past week, especially his buddy Ziggy!
Two pals at the table. : )
Dash reading to Grandpa GR and Ziggy before bed, both getting some laughs in.
Taco, not wanting to miss out on any love.
A breakfast out at the Virg always includes a hot chocolate and a mountain of whipped cream!
So great to see you Grandpa GR, king of the Robinson boys!

Spring Concert
This year they held Dash's spring concert at the High School auditorium, a step up from the over-crowded cafeteria at his school, and it was great. Here is the whole second grade who sang three songs, one in Spanish and two in English.
Dash, middle row, middle. For the last song, called "Habitat", Dash held up the muskrat. : )
We were lucky to have Grandpa GR in town who made it just in time to see a great 2nd grade performance! Can't believe summer break is almost here!

Greens
Things are green around here, the snow has melted, the earth is happy, I love this time of year!
Dash brought home a fava plant last week from school that they had started growing in class. One fava bean, planted in a dixie cup and it had only sprouted about 1" when he brought it home. The last couple days we have been measuring it in the mornings and when he gets home from school and it is growing a 1/2" during the day and 1/2" at night...and as of this mornings measurements, it is 12" tall!
As much as we try to dissuade them, usually one of both of the cats like to try to walk with us down to Dash's bus stop. This is Ziggy waiting on the trail for me when I walked back home. : )
For the first time, we joined a CSA box and are going to start receiving a 1/2 share each week of whatever greens and veggies are growing and ready. This week, we got a bonus small load as they said they were sprouting and wouldn't last til next week, so they started the shares a week early. We got some arugula, a spicy greens mix, chives and lovage. Fresh summer eating, here we come!

Games day!
With Trevor out of town for a bike race this past weekend, Dash and I decided we would do a day of all his favorite games. We started out playing tennis. So cool to see his progression over the last couple years, even though he doesn't play it that much, he can return it and has a pretty good whack over the net!
He was pretty excited that his shorts had pockets and was seeing how many balls he could fit in and still play! His favorite iteration of a game being whoever could hit the ball the farthest and bounce it off the other's backboard would get a point!
Next up, we hit up the baseball field. We practiced hitting and pitching with mostly tennis balls and when Dash started getting frustrated that he couldn't catch all of the balls that I was hitting back at him, I reminded him that that was why baseball is a game played with a whole team!
Last up, soccer! This boy is obsessed right now and totally into it, his favorite is being goalie and taking shots and he is really good at it, diving all over the place! So fun.
