Salt Lake and Back

I had a whirlwind last couple days and I loved every minute of it! On Friday morning I drove down to Salt Lake to take a days worth of art classes on Saturday. The best part of it was getting to stay with my wonderful friend Shannon Bahrke and her fiance Matt for the night. Being as Shannon is one of the most bad-ass athletes I know (you know she got a silver in the 2002 Olympics in moguls, right?) I get out of the car and she had me hiking up this monster mountain behind her house, right away, but look at that view, with all of Salt Lake below us it was pretty gorgeous.

I want all of you to cheer her on this year...she is such a great girl, one of the most passionate, kind, fun, life-loving people I know and she deserves it. Her goal is medaling in the Olympics
again, so a million lucks to you Shannon!!!

On another note, with less than two months left I crossed off four goals from The 30 List in the last week! Number 1, 10, 13 AND 18, with a couple more in the works! I am whipping them out, yee haw!

Shannon and I at the top of the world, ok, maybe just the top of Salt Lake...

PIE!

Check another one off The 30 List! I made a pie from scratch this weekend and um, yum. That is my take on it and I definitely didn't hear any complaints from Trev either! Strawberry rhubarb, takes me back to my childhood with memories of the pies my mom would make every summer with strawberries and rhubarb out of our garden. Mmmmm....

Betty Crocker, Suzy Homemaker...you can call me whatever you want, well, as long as it's nice!

Maybe not the prettiest, but...

SERIOUS YUM.

Kari was here

So last weekend, our latest visitor to Camp Robinson was my friend and old college roommate, Kari. She now lives in Denver and has done the quick stop-ins in JH, but never got the full experience, until now...

Right off the plane we whisked her away to the deck on Dornan's (for sure the best deck in the park to watch the sun set behind the Tetons) to cheers to her arrival...

And she obviously needed to throw a few back to get in the swing of things here.

Then we hit up the carnival which was in town for the week of the Teton County Fair

We got seriously nauseous from our first 3 rides (that huge dragon/boat swing thing, this Superman flying guy and "The Experience" which I later dubbed "The most horrible Experience EVER), so we had to end it with a nice mellow Ferris wheel...

And you know what that means? Another one crossed off the list! Yikes I better get moving on the rest of those!

Happy (slightly sick) customers

The next day we went on a float on the Snake River and I did most of the rowing because I am just nice like that. Kari definitely beat Trev on her fish count...including this monster that almost (but not quite) made it into the boat.

This was Trev's catch of the day (well besides me of course)

And a happy Kari in front of the Tetons.

To be continued....
