Super Cool

Another dispatch from the chronicles of being hurt in the summer and doing things you wouldn't normally do because normally you would be out doing instead of watching.............

I went to a motorcycle "stunt" show the other day.  It was badass!  These two amateur dudes came from IF over to Jackson and put on a damn fun show in the parking lot of Snow King.

Front wheelie.  Amazing.  Look at low of psi he has in his front tire!

Throttle stabalizer makes this move possible.

Yea, that is something I might just never be able to do!  I like being on moto's made for the mountains, and well, being in the mountains.  None the less, that is so kick ass!  Mad props.

Wanderlusting in Whistler

So, I just got home from an incredible 4-day trip to Whistler where I attended Wanderlust, a yoga and music festival, with 8 other friends from yoga teacher training last fall. It is hard for me to put in words how inspirational it was and how happy I feel now, but it was a trip well worth the price in gold. Here is a summary in pictures...

At the top of the gondola at Whistler, getting ready for a rooftop yoga class and feeling pretty blessed to be alive.

With my yogi girls!
Me, Leah, Karoline and Ashley.

Ashley, me and Karoline...hot pants ready for some inspiring yoga in the d'Om!

The view from our rooftop yoga perch at the top of the mountain.

Oh, Canada!

Olympic man on my stomach.

And I took a slackline yoga class that was awesome.
Here is savasana, the final resting pose on the line...I am floating!

Native American drummers to assist our yoga practice.

Slackline yoga play on the lawn with the d'Om in the background.

One-leg slackline balance...next up, headstand. Hahah!

A little bit of beautiful Whister...I really love it here.

 MC Yogi rocking it out.

Outdoor yoga class by Lost Lake in which I got stung by a bee on our nature walk home. On the butt.

Acroyoga flyers, rocking violinists, awesome dancers and DJs...this was pretty amazing.

For the more "famous" yoga teachers, this is what the classes looked like, packing them in.

 And this was yummy.

A speakeasy talk by Shiva Rea, a yoga goddess.

This was a little difficult on a downhill slope, on gravel, with my shoes on, but you get the point!

A lot of happiness and love being spread to the world.

Attempting to sit on the line, eventually pushing up to stand...need a little more practice on that one!

Our little yoga tribe doing our thing in the Olympic rings.
So great to share this experience with all of you!
Until next time my favorite yoga friends!

Life elevated.

It is amazing what one can do with an elevated foot all weekend long.  Such as.....

fishing, drinking beers, hanging with buds, floating, and camping.  I managed to keep my leg up pretty much the whole weekend.

My bud Cody got a sheep wagon built for his property which is super cool.

The good ol Snake River, foot still elevated.

Evening BBQ and cocktails, foot still elevated.

Handy and the sheep wagon seemed to get along just fine with one another.

SF part awesome

We got kinda hammered on the first day with rain, but day two was nothing but swimming and sun.

Early pull overs to camp normally end comically.

Marco eating like an Olympian needs to.

 The crew, Sans Chels.

Seriously, August is here, look busy..

The South Fork of the Snake never disappoints.  Even when the fishing is slow, or really slow, the company and scenery more than make up for it.  Last weekend was another rock solid weekend of fun with some Jackson buds and some out of towners.

Ummm, easily the most pathetic mellow stick I have ever seen, although, something can be said for the sheer volume that baby is holding.  Marco and Lizzy came north from the SLC to hang for the weekend.  Love you guys.

Lizzdogger clearly not appreciating the morning paparazzi and Chels/Hanna somewhere in between!

The good ol South Fork never, ever gets old.

 Beef, its whats for dinner....

Look away if you easily get.....

Well, last weekend was yet another amazing run of fun, laughs, camping, adventuring, and, damn it....., nooooooooooooo.  My foot met up between the battering ram that was the tongue of my raft trailer and the bumper of my truck.  It got wedged between and you can see the carnage for yourself.  Luckily, 4 hours in the ER, a few stitches and not bone or ligament damage.  I will be riding the pine for the next couple of weeks and doing my best to "take it easy."  Pretty much impossible for me.

Summer done right.

What could be more summer feeling than an extended picnic/swim at Jackson Lake followed up by a few rides at the Teton County Fair?
