Marco is here!

We were lucky enough to get a winter visit from my bro, Marco, so we have been busy showing him around town trying to convince him how great Jackson is...don't you want to move here now???

The night he arrived, he needed a workout, so we all strapped on nordic skis and hit the track at the high school.

Marco showing some pro skate-skiing form.

The next day we woke up to 14" of fresh snow (YIPPY!!!) and were more than stoked that Marco was just cleared to ski the day before. He is not in Europe racing World Cup right now because of a bad crash in December that ended his season early, but at least he got a little taste of winter in Jackson! Yay for passing his head injury test (after the 4th try) and for being 3 weeks out of knee surgery. Yep, he is kind of a badass.

I personally was surprised that he passed his brain test at all.

Ohhh, brotherly love.

Hiking at the Village for some fresh powder turns...awesome turns and some awesome guys to follow...I am a lucky girl!

Oh ya, Marco didn't miss a beat.

Now that is fun.

So stoked to be hanging with my two favorites boys!

It's not easy being Stevie

Not quite as much of a winter lover as we are, under the covers is Stevie's regular afternoon hangout!

More 'biling

I am pretty sure I mentioned somewhere that this weekend was epic riding conditions. So much so that I went all three days without even thinking about going skiing instead. I am unabashedly, officially, addicted!
Above shot is of my sled bud Johnny launching a cornice.

On the ride out on Sunday we were following a pretty massive set of wolf tracks.

Johnny on a borrowed sled still managing to rip it up. On Saturday at the very end of our big ride Johnny's engine completely seized just before I burned up my drive train belt. We had two sleds that were in big trouble 20 plus miles from the nearest trailhead. Luckily my was an easy fix with a new belt, but Johnny's not so much. We towed it off a hill and down into a meadow and then rode double all the way back to the trucks.

Then the next day Johnny rode in on one of his company's sleds to pick up his personal sled.

This was Tim and Johnny pulling Johnny's dead sled up the last big hill before getting it back to the truck/trailers.

Part of snowmobiling that is so appealing to me is the camaraderie and teamwork associated with being miles and miles from any civilization and or help in the dead of winter. You really count on your buds and decision making.

It doesn't get any better

No sooner did I get back from 70 degrees and green grass in So Cal........, to come back to Jackson and get the best riding conditions of the whole winter! Needless to say, this week was so freakin awesome!
The sled shot was today way up in the Gros Venture mountains taken by my bud Johnny. We have now officially crossed the 400" mark for total snowfall in our mountains here for the winter and this shot says it all! Not only did it dump, but it managed to get bluebird both days. Yes.......!

I had to throw this shot in from our last round of golf earlier in the week at SilverRock in La Quinta. Easily one of the best courses I have ever played, it was amazing. I am pretty sure it is the first course I have ever played that is also a course that is on the PGA tour. If I would have played from the PGA tee's my score would have been around 120!

Palm Springs Rules

My Grandparents en route to dinner and celebrating 70 years of marriage! Quite a feat.

Most of extended family was able to get to sunny, warm, and really nice Palm Springs for the big event.

My cousin Clai, Grandpa Jim, me, uncle Ted, and my Dad. Pretty sure my 92 year old grandfather has more hair on top of his head than the rest of us young bucks combined!

As much as I love winter, a little break in the white world is always so important to kind of recharge the winter batteries. Palm Springs did just that. The weather was perfect in the low 70's everyday. It is always so awesome to get on a plane and leave the black and white world of winter , void of smells and sounds, and then emerge into a world of t- shirts, shorts, flowers, fresh cut grass, et.

Winter always feels like it has a deadening effect on your senses.

Swimming in the middle of February outside does nothing but heighten your senses and make you think about summer!
