Year coming to a close

It has been pretty damn cold of late, but with 23 down jackets, Dash and Chels are getting out with the chariot everyday!  Both are digging it, but thinking about July evenings along the bike path in a t shirt!

Game changing set up!  Ri Decks built this beauty to spec and as you can see, hauling two mountain machines ain't no thang....

Sweetness

Teddy Ball Game, aka Sweetness, aka, The Eagle ventured up to Togwotee on Sunday with us sled skiing.  He got to experience knee deep untracked skiing, beautiful views, cold beers, sleds, and not even a chance of changing Dash's dirty diaper!

Thanks though to "Uncle Wildman" for watching Dash when Chels took some skiing laps.  You the man brother.

Anytime I can sled and Chels can ski, all in the same lap, life is pretty good!

Gametime

Well, well, well....as luck would have it, this past massive snow system moved out just in time for the weekend to get bluebird and inverted!  Yep, if you were lucky enough to get up to elevation, the temps were almost 50 degrees warmer than in the valley.  And, the conditions were all time!

The search, en route to the goods.

 The goods located.  Yahoo.

The Tetons are nice and snow covered at the moment.  Part of the big crew we had on Saturday, taking a breather, having a chocolate bar, and soaking in where we are fortunate enough to live.

Once small capture of a moment that happened hundreds upon hundreds of times that day!

When the snow is soft, one must get airborne.

Throttle don't fail me now.  White room was the order of the day.

Our first X mas with Dash was one we will never forget!  Such a rad day.

Keep on coming

Winter went off this past week!  It dumped, and the valley rejoiced.

Teddy and Chels had an epic couple hours up on the KIng.

And Nate got some of his first legit powder turns on a sled!  I have three buds who got sleds this fall and are fully hooked!  It has been really fun watching them get into it.

Merry X mas one and all.

Chels and Dash playing tourist at the town square a couple of nights ago.

The almost always smiling Dashman wasn't all smiles when meeting up with Santa for the very first time, but he didn't cry either!

Next year Dash promised to have a wish list.

To say the skiing has been insane this week.....

Would be a vast understatement!  Pretty awesome storm cycle we have been in.  Yesterday's Tuesday Dawn Patrol team went to the King and scored!

Me, literally 15 minutes prior to being in Court for work.  Yes, I love this town!

Des, in the white room with the town of Jackson down below.

Still a lil skinny up top, but badass nonethess.

Des is somewhere in that freight train of white smoke.

Good thing it decided

to unleash the white snow flurry this week on the valley floor because riding up to the good last Sunday was a lil skinny down low.  Once we made it up there it was handlebar (waist deep) though!

Being a dude.

Dash watching football and hanging with his buds.

Getting it dialed

We are finding everything that you loved to do pre-kid can still be done, it just requires a bit more planning and some help along the way.  Saturday was pretty sweet.  We went with a big crew up to Togwotee and went sled skiing.  I forgot to take many pictures unfortunately.  Chels got to powder ski, I got to snowmobile a lot, and Dash got to hang out in a warm lodge, by a fire, with friends and lots of toys.  It was a perfect set  up for all and one that is definitely  going to be repeated this winter.

Top of Angle Mountain selfie!

Chels skiing back down to the lodge after getting dropped off by me!

Our crews horses parked at the bar!  A few of my buds who have been on the fence about getting sleds for years and years finally all dropped in this year and are learning together.

Chels over the years has gotten really good at co-piloting a sled.  She knows when and where to lean better than most!

TGIF

You know you are doing something right in the world when you have a job, a wife, and mountains that all come together to be able to allow you do this on your lunch break on a Friday!  I worked all day today, except for a lunch time rip up on the Pass.  Wow, it was amazing.

Can't stop, won't stop....

Today marked 10 months of goodness with this lil nugget of fun.  The cliche' that it goes to fast is ringing true.  We love you Dashdude.

Creatures of the morn

The Tuesday dawn patrol team started things up again this week.  545 meet ups, cold, cold hikes.  Darkness, bullshitting, skiing, and back to town for 8am meetings!
December is always a bit rough as you essentially hike in the dark and ski, if not in the dark, forsure with yellow lenses!

Des, blending in  with the natural powder habitat.

Ben ripping pow and enjoying sweet turns.

Keely, getting back to the truck and heading back to reality.

We are an random mix of real estate agent, juvenile probation officer, family advocate, professional skier, and a ski coach.  But....., we share the common goal of getting out of bed long before the sunrises, enduring brutally cold weather, and skiing.  It's something I look forward to each and every Tuesday, no matter the conditions

Never better

That's the thing about Ol Man Winter, he always drops in, just sometimes late.  I love a lot of activities in life, but nothing compares to riding a sled in the backcountry with buds in powder.  Nothing.  Getting out all three days last weekend was such a treat.  The new 16 Polaris sleds absolutely rip!  Thanks Chels for helping put such a massive smile on my face.

You're damn right!

Badass

Chels celebrated her birthday in fine fashion, per usual.  Traditions are awesome, especially when they involve birthdays, snowmobiles, and beautiful places.  We head up to Granite every year for Chels Bday.  The Dashman joined this year.  He loved it.

Not a ton of snow this year, but all smiles anyhow.

We are always pretty limited in the size and height of the tree we can get every year with our living quarters.

Team bright pulling the tree back to the sled.

This pretty much sums up living in western Wyoming in the winter time to me!  Chels, Dash, a sled, and a tree attached to it, and not a person around.

Dash rode in the the Bjorn with a down jacket around him with Chels, sitting behind me, who was standing and driving, and blocking the wind.  It worked!

The fam.

Until next year.....hopefully!

We hope Marco skis forever on the World Cup, because, being at Beaver Creek with buds in early December feels so right after more than a decade of doing it.

Woa, Chels and I even got out for a few laps together.

Dash, Hannah, and Audra, aka, pure awesomeness.

 Fam..'

Dash chillin with his aunt and uncle.

U grab me, I will grab you, then you grab him.

Paul, hanging with his bff for the weeked Max, and the eagle of course.

Babba Nans, better get on back to Wyo to see this dude sooner than later!

My boy!
