Anyone have an opinion?

It's spring time, and  that of course means......time to think about "snowchecking" a sled for next winter.  I am at a bit of a crossroads right now with what to do.  I am hoping to sell and or trade my 09 Ski Doo in and upgrade to a 2014 sled.  Only issue is what brand to go with?  I really like the looks of the new Polaris sleds and everyone that rides them loves them, especially in the tight trees.  THen again, I love the Doo's and am comfortable with the chassis after years of riding them.

You have to order a sled in April to ensure the best financing and warranty deals and ensure a fall delivery of the new sled.  Its really exciting to think about even now, with summer fast approaching.

A few variations of the Polaris RMK Pro...different color options.
I like the red track on this one.

 Patriotic buggy.

And the 2014 Doo's.  They are amazing looking too.

HC does it again...

The 38th annual World Championship Hillclimb was last weekend in Jackson.  You certainly dont have to be a sledder to appreciate the awesomeness of what these guys do and the event as a whole.  Its a huge money maker and fundraiser for Jackson and a really good time.  This year conditions were prime for fast times as it was cold and bulletproof.

For the second year in a row, Kyle Tapio, riding on a Cat won it!  There is the "King of the King" riding off into the sunset after his winning run.  That sled easily has over 20k into it!

The riders go straight up that suckah in just a little over a minute.  Full throttle.

"Hill Help" scrambling to save a sled from certain death.

I heard some stat the other day that outside of Cheyenne's Frontier Days, the Hillclimb is the largest outdoor gathering in Wyoming!

The HIllclimb in a nutshell!

Late Spring Break...

"Jacko, Jacko-bean, Jah Jah, etc...." was in the valley last weekend celebrating what will most likely be his last spring break!  Jack is living in Seattle finishing up law school and came back to the mothership to visit friends and fam.  We scored some good turns together up on the pass.  PRetty stoked for Jah Jah to land a job in SLC and/or Boise or both.  A bit closer to the 307.

Jack making some tele turns in what was some of the best skiing conditions of the  entire winter last weekend.

Retirement......

apparently comes in a myriad of forms.  Our good bud Curt shunned the golf course and bridge clubs yesterday and hucked off a big tower down in Moab.  Here's to you Capt, you are the man!  Keep living the retirement dream buddy.

The Grey Goose...

Rather fittingly, my beloved truck and trusty traveling companion rolled over the 100,000 mile mark last week on yet another adventure en route to Utah.  Can't wait to see where the next 100,000 take us.

Doubling up on Moto Goodness

Knowing that the trip down to the desert was "early" in the summer season and that we probably will not be able to ride for another few months up here in Wyoming, we burned the candle strong all weekend long and rode essentially sun up to sun down.

The boys, taking in the view, some water, and some eats on "Odds Trail."

Some of the posse, all lined up, read to rip.

Jason, diggin the pit for a well cooked surprise, via Matt and Curt's hunting trip down to Texas last month.

Tanner, doing the heavy work with his dumptruck getting the rocks ready to heat up.

Steve, sticking a gnarly uphill section on the Odds Trail.

Yep, 8 hour underground pig roast happened.

Two of the most pimped out marshmello sticks I have ever laid eyes on around a bonfire.

Curt, with nothing but solitude and amazing single track to keep him company.  Great to wet the summer pallet last weekend down in Utah.....

I Love The Desert

These shots are all hopelessly out of order!  It is too early in the morn to be blogging and I am heading out on a work trip for the rest of the week.  Sorry!  I am throwing up the first set of shots from the weekend that was last weekend down in the desert.  Suffice to say, it was absolutely amazing!  The desert continues to be one of my favorite places to spend time.  I love everything about it, especially when its 75 degrees, no snow, and there are 20 plus great people to hang out with.

Price, UT, the perpetual jumping off point before heading to the boonies.  All loaded up.

5 months pregnant and absolutely killing it!  Shannon at the end of the "horseshoe loop" just before darkness caught us.  We ended up having to limp 15 miles on the road back to camp in the dark.

Capt. Curt.

Ahh, the "TajmaRolfe" in all its glory!  Seriously, the largest tent I have ever crashed in.

There were over 20 people that came and went in our group while we were there.  One of the mornings the JH crew did a solo ride.  This was Jason's first moto weekend ever......, he got thrown to the burning fire right away and handled it like a rock star!  Rolfe, so freaking pumped to have you part of the riding crew.   This summer will be filled with all sorts of amazing places and adventures.

Steve, Jason, and Drew, on the southern end of the San Rafael Wash.

First evening ride, taking a break.

Probably the coolest things ever!  5 year old Tanner got a new moto for Christmas and this was the first weekend he got to ride it.  Needless to say, he had a huge, big ol grin on his face the entire time!

Drew and I took a little ride above camp one night.  You can see the solitude of our camp!

Looking south toward Moab and Green River.

Teshawna taking a sweet line on her new 150.  A host of Matt and Shannon's SLC buds came down for the weekend.  It was cool meeting new peeps and riding with them.

Jason, literally second ride of his life, already ahead of the bell curve!

The ol gal ready to rip to southern latitudes.

Next time Rolfee, you won't even put a foot down!

Free passes....

Don't always come free!  Yet another weekend spent at the ski hill working Dicks Ditch.  This weekend was the snowboard version.  I love being out with buds, watching the sunrise, working hard, crushing beverages afterward.

Dub D, setting a spec fence in the lower Ditch.

Race Crew's own, "T" sending the Nez Perce road gap, over Rolfe, the crossing guard.  Temps were as nice as I can ever remember for Dicks Ditch.  Spring Skiing is on.

Hanging in the Ditch...

The skier weekend for the classic "Dicks Ditch" was this past weekend.  I worked it and had one of the best seats in the house.

Love this valley.

First for everything....

http://www.annagoody.ca/

We went full moon sledding the other night.  Check it out.  Had a beautiful, nearly full moon that crested on the way up to Granite Hot Springs.  Awesome...
