It's all fun and games.....

Yesterday we had big plans for a 80 plus mile epic over in the Big Holes in Idaho.  About a third of the way  in, Drew clipped a boulder on a steep section of trail up Flemming Creek.  He "whiskey throttled", the bike tomahawked and well, the engine case met up with some sharp limestone rock.  The rock won out.  Split it wide open to the point that no amount of quick weld would fix it.  Lucky Drew was able to coast about 6 miles back to the highway, all downhill.

Something new....

Just when you think in 19 summers of living in Jackson you have done just about everything........, you take your little kid to the "R Park"!  Jackson is a pretty amazing place when it comes to philanthropy.  This sweet new swimming hole that the fam enjoyed out near Wilson brought to you by very wealthy people who donate to awesome causes!  Thanks!

Lucky to have these two....

Some days as a social worker are better than others.  Friday was easily the worst day of my decade long career working with kids and being a social worker.  Brutal.  It was a day that I hope I will never have one like again for as long as I am in the field .

Luckily, I came home to these two, and it lifted my spirits a bit.

If you read this blog at all, you well know that Dash is the star!  Well, of all the pics that he has been in the past four months, this one just might be my favorite!

I had such a fun father's day getting to hang with Dash and my dad.  Awesome.

Torrential Rains....

My dad tagged along with me on my monthly work trip this past week with the hopes of scoring some fishing.  Well, it turns out central Wyoming has had more rain the past couple of weeks than maybe ever for this time of year, which means flooding.

My dad, surveying what is normally the boat launch on the Big Horn River in Thermoplis, WY.  It is about 10 feet under water here.

We dragged the drift boat all the way out there only to not even try putting it in the water as the float would have been way too sketchy.

Ohhhhh yeaaaaaawwwww

Last week I got invited by a non-profit I work with in town on a daily basis helping kids to play in their annual golf tournament fund raiser.  It was, well, a lot, lot better than work!  Wow.  Shooting Star golf course is amazing.
My Dad and Case got the invite as well via me.  We were all so pumped.

Hannah on the PCT

One of the best parts of our Cali road trip was being able to coordinate with our amazing friend Hannah from Jackson who is currently hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. It just so worked out that we were able to pick her up at Agua Dulce, the closest the PCT comes to Santa Barbara, and kidnap her for a quick night off the trail.

Along with showering, doing laundry and eating a big healthy meal, we jumped in the ocean and did some extreme boogie boarding!

Hannah, me, Marco and Anna getting extreme...

See I told you! Hannah riding high, while I am getting crushed...eeek!

Dash and Hannah hadn't seen each other in a month and had a lot of catching up to do.

 Beach walks for all!

Miss you and am so proud of you girl, good luck on the rest of your adventure!

I know someone who loved his Hannah time!

Dash didn't want to say bye. : (

Hannah has a blog she is trying to update as often as possible from the trail, so you should check it out! The website is http://hannahonthepct.blogspot.com/
and we'll also have the link to her blog on the side of ours so you can stay updated on her adventures!

Chasing the white ball

Woa...., sometimes I forget how much I love things when I haven't done them in too long, i.e...Golf.  The crew went out last weekend and played over in Idaho and had a blast.  It had been way too long since we all played golf, and even way too longer since we had truly hung with our amigo Teddy Ball Game.  Hell yea, smiles all around.  Dash had his first golf mission.  He did awesome.

 Golf with a stroller, yep.

Dash got a little tired from all the spectating and took a siesta.

Uncle Wildman, the man, the myth, our awesome bud Teddy.

Playing golf looking at the Tetons never grows old.

Hanging with the Grand's

Dash has been lucky enough to have his grandparents in the town the last week.  Lil does Dash know just how badass they are!  My mom can crush people a third of her age on the road bike!

Dash got to go swimming last weekend and absolutely loved it!  We already are so pumped for swim lessons at 6 months.

Hanging with Grams stoked on his new toothing toy.

Chilling with GR....., scoping the scene in the back 40.

Poolside in blue.

Not a problem....

Parenting seems to be all about transitioning from a life that was, to a life that was, yet better.  I am lucky, getting up early in the morning has never been an issue for me, rather, something that I love.  So, now that we have enough morning early enough to support it, I have been riding road bikes in the morning from 5-730am, then going to work.  Watching the sunrise over the Tetons with next to nothing to nobody but the animals to share it with is pretty sweet.

All shots taken from my bike!

Love biking north of town early in the morn working through the usual fog of the elk refuge.

Smiling like it is my job!

Dash is many things, but most of all, HAPPY!  It's so cool to see how much he smiles and is stoked on life.

Sweet shades my man.  They almost fit.

Summer time and the living is easy.

Lunch hour on Tuesday's in the park with Dash.  I wish it lasted all day, an hour of this goodness isnt nearly enough.

The Nation

Moto Nation was finally back in full effect last weekend up in the Big Hole Mountains, over in Idaho.  There was still quite a bit of snow up high, and down low was pretty wet, but everywhere else was super sweet.

Topped out on Relay Ridge with the Teton Valley in the distance.  Moto is so badass!

 Hell yes.

Once of the best parts of riding moto is it certainly connects an adult with their inner 5 year old!  Playing in puddles.

 Climbing to the top.

Ummm, yea, that one is deep.  Place to avoid to ward off trail destruction include right here.
