Rainy day activities

May is always the wettest month of the year in Jackson, and this year has been no different.  Athough this year has seemed to be wetter than most.  We had grand ideas of a picnic and day at the beach up at the lake last weekend.  That turned into me getting caught on my bike in a blizzard, and skipping rocks into the lake, minus the picnic!  Dash and Chels scoping the view.

Good to see Jackson Lake full to the brim, bodes well for this summer.

Work wanderings

Just in case you have ever laid in bed at night and lost sleep due to wonderment of what riding a road bike in western Nebraska and eastern Wyoming looks like....., well, luckily I have the pictures for ya!

Me, my bike, and nothing but awesome, no traffic tarmac out toward Easterbrook, WY.  Such beautiful county near the Medicine Bow mountains and Douglas, WY.

Taking a break in the near ghost town of Henry, Nebraska contemplating the setting sun and the distance to get back to the hotel, all the while knowing the last few miles are gonna be in the dark!

Literally on the border, chasing the setting sun.

All smiles

Awesome, so awesome.  Dashman outgrew his frog towel and has now graduated to the bigger shark.

The rest of last weekend we spent down at Lava Hot Springs.  Woa, so nice!  One of the fringe benefits of having a little one is being up early enough to be in the hot springs on a crowded day right when it opens and having a 112 degree (yep, thats hot) pool to yourself.

All kinds of new toys in the pool area.

One damn good time

Super fun weekend getaway last weekend down to our ol stompin grounds, Bear Lake.  We used to go down there a few times a year but haven't in the last couple, exactly why, I am not sure because it is so close by and it is so awesome!

I rode in my first sanctioned, categorized bike race down there, the Bear Lake Classic.  I ran in the master 35 plus and Cat 4/5's.  It was such a blast.  Pretty intense.  Ended up getting in a tie for 2/3rd and was a within 10 seconds to the guy who won our group.  Top 30 out of over 200 total.  So, it went well, I didn't embarrass myself, and most importantly, had a ton of fun and am now hungry to do more of it!

And I will get all I can handle in September as I heard late last week that I got into LOTOJA via the lottery!  It is the longest (over 220 miles) single day road race in America from Logan, UT to Jackson.  Me and the above bike are gonna be spending some quality time together between now and then!

Post race celebration with Dash, a beer, and my podium prize.  Yes, that is a three burner grill.  Into the storage unit it went saved for another day when river trips come back into our lives.

Hanging at the beach with these guys was nice, really nice.

And this dude easily won the how to get to the start line in the coolest way award!  Sweet set up huh!  I was extremely jealous needless to say.  Can anyone say retirement options?

Best Buds

Dash and Stevie are damn good buds.....even though Dash can be pretty rough on poor ol Stevie with his aggressive petting.

They hang out and entertain each other well.

Taking the walker out into the grass.

Off on an adventure, looking for bugs I would imagine.

Dash doings

The Dashman had a big time of things last week once he got over his sickness.  Hanging in his home away from home, the chariot, scoping bubbles!

Chillin with his absolute favorite toy, "Pops Loader", and my parents awesome dog and lover of Dash, Matty.

Saying hey to the friendly horse at the place my parents stayed.

Dashman and his grandparents, hanging out by the creek, taking a 70 degree early May day in!  Lil man has been sick this week, hence the lack of great, big, huge smile!

Congrats Anna!

Besides wanting to get out of the valley for the weekend, the main catalyst for heading south was to root on Anna who graduated college on Saturday (what, those four years went by way way too fast)!

Woa Dash, slow down growing up amigo!  Scope the new haircut hanging with Mom!

We are selfishly bummed that the Marco and Anna chapter of being in SLC is coming to a close and the house in Sugar House is going to be on the market soon.  Having you guys so close to us for these past 4 years was so rad.  We are gonna miss ya.

Chelsea loved the stache.........., err, would barely talk to me, definitely no thought of looking at me.

Between rain and snow storms, I snuck in a few really sweet rides.

Top of East Canyon looking down toward the SLC valley.

 Yea Anna, congrats!

Celebration graduation lawn games.
