Something different....

39 weeks and things are starting to slow down for us!  Yep, its  true.  Chels and I were remarking that this is the first time we have been in town this much in a decade.  It's different, but it feels right for the goodness that is about to come into our lives.

Morning walk, just behind our apt, Mr. Moose getting some Vitamin D too.

And putting together our Chariot.  Hands down the coolest baby gift we have received.  Thanks Robinson's/Maclises, Rena, etc.  It is so badass!  Already scheming ways to attach it to the snowmobile next winter once we get the ski attachments.

It's just a waiting game now.

Truly Lucky

I feel so lucky for so many reasons in life.  Today was one of them.  Living in a place where you can work until 2 pm, and then go sledding deep in the mountains in amazingly beautiful places with good buddies is truly priceless.  Being in the mountains with friends never gets old.

Drew, hitting a cornice.

Drew and Steve, best damn riding partners around no matter the season!  Looking down at the Snake River, the "elbow" and the town of Alpine above Steve's head.

Old radio receivers can be found on mountain tops all over the west it seems.

The crew, deep in the boonies, one hour from our desks!

Outta the funk.

We can't remember a winter with more inversion days and fog in the valley.  Unfortunately, it hasn't been burning off a lot of the days and staying foggy and cold in town.  If you are lucky enough and/or are not pregnant, then getting above the fog layer and into the 30-40 degree temperature change just takes a nice lunch time hike.

Easily the coolest selfie I have ever snapped.  That is me, in the clouds, back light by the sun.

Walking and waiting...

On Friday, I hit the 38 weeks preggo mark...yahoo! Anxious, nervous (for birth) and SO excited to meet this little one sometime in the coming weeks. Could be any day now, so beginning to lay low, wrap up work and get some rest before we don't have that option any more. : )

We have been taking preggo pics every week (I will post the whole series up here shortly), but here are some from this week on our walk out on the dyke...can't beat this bluebird winter day!

It is actually a little chillier than it looks, but I am sacrificing for pregnancy fashion here people. ; )

Balance, yep, I still have a little bit of it.

Trying to soak in these last fleeting pregnancy days...crazy. I have been loving it, but can't wait to meet and love the munchkin even more!

Breakfast done right......

Something about starting your day like this makes everything right in the world.

Ben soaking up the goodness.

Keely, in the transition between epic and more epic.

It was that amazing...

No need for fancy filters on this post, mother nature took care of that task for us earlier this week on the dawn  patrol scene.  It was simply outstanding.

Ben, out shredding before his sleeping 4 year old even woke up!

Yea Keely, might wanna get your memory card cleared, you might just be taking a whole bunch of rad  shots once the sun hits the snow.

Getting out...

Drewski and I managed to sneak a Monday morn ride in this week and found the goods!

Sign em up!

My bud Nate expressed an interest in going out sledding to see what all the noise is about.  Well, we picked about as difficult of a day to learn to sled as possible, no visibility and deep snow.  Nate was an absolute trooper and hung tough most of the day.  He got stuck a bunch, launched over the handlebars, and scared himself multiple times.  All part of the very steep learning curve to sledding.  But....., Nate had a smile on his face the whole day and wants to get after it again.  Hell yea Nate, well done.

Nate, launching a hit.

I told Nate the day would be a success if he didn't hurt himself or the sled, and....., be able to arc a turn by the end of it.  Done, done, and done.  Well played Nate.  I hope you soon join the sledding tribe.

At a premium.

Yep, we are well aware days like this are going to be hard to come by in the coming months!  Just me and Chels, hanging in the mountains, enjoying living in paradise, shredding pow together!  We are so stoked for the new challenges that await, but are soaking up the time just the two of us between now and then.

Selfie via timer app.

Maybe the best views of any sledding area anywhere.

 Man and machine.

Deep snow, not a soul around, and not a bad backdrop.

 Color and smiles.

Under three weeks until this awesome soon to be mom brings a kid into this world.  37 weeks strong and still sledding.  Chels, you are amazing.

Powder might be the best thing ever.

And a couple pics of our Tetons model belly shoot...Week 37, yahoo!

 Can't beat this backdrop

Why not...

Evening sunset cruises on this beast are mighty tasty.

Not too long now.

37 weeks and counting, Chels doing a "stress test" on Thursday, really not looking stressed at all!

So good.

We haven't really gotten a big storm since the first of the year, but lucky for us, its always cold in Jackson, so, when we go high and dry, the skiing stays good.  The morning dawn patrol this week was it's usual amazing.

Me, chasing the early morning goodness.  Photo credit Keely.  No filter necessary, just 100% mother nature filtering happening.

The aforementioned Keely, thumbing a ride, with very little traffic coming up the Wyoming side of the pass that time of day!

 Des finding a tasty nugget.

Keely getting ready to drop into a "chicken scratch" chute.

Sunday sled shred...

Drew and I went out for a sweet mission in the trees on Sunday.  Sometimes "greybird" days promote hanging in the tight timber and finding lines you wouldnt normally look for.

All in due time.

We got lucky enough to baby sit for Case and Jess the other night and of course, Wyatt wanted to scope the "vroom vroom" machine.  Anytime you want to take a ride my man, get a liability waiver signed and we are all good!  Ha.

That machine makes me smile a lot too buddy!

My Fav's!

Snowmobile accessed belly pictures at 8 plus months....check!!!

Chels and I have been doing weekly photos since this summer.  The past month it has happened via sled.  It all makes me so happy!  This is literally my favorite belly pic for all the obvious reasons.

 Getting airborne up Palmer Creek.

Still growing and being amazing.  Chels is such a rockstar.  Still sledding and skiing.

The belly from a different angle!

Uh-Huh...

It's pretty awesome having motivated buds that like to get after it like I do.  Steve and Drew are my homies when it comes to being always up for a mission in the mountains having fun.  I was on my way back from spending a week in Lander, WY for work and the boys came from Jackson and met me up on Togwotee Pass for an afternoon rip.  Per usual, it was the cat's meow.

Drew, sending a wind lip below the Breccia Cliffs.

Hard to tell how deep this little creekbed that Drewski found himself stuck in until you look to the snow to the left of Drew.  Yep, it was neck deep.  Part of sledding is dealing with "stucks".  They happen, they make you better, and they humble the hell out of yea just when you think you are starting to figure this crazy ass sport out!  Love it.
