Yea Rena

Yea, it was as nice as it looks!

THe four of us delivered cookies on X mas eve via sled in our lil neighborhood to all the nearby neighbors.  It was the start of an awesome tradition.

Below zero temps NBD with a tub.

Dash has really been digging the new old sled.

Winter!  Finally.  And a child that never sleeps deciding to take a nap in the below zero!

Hot tub

I have a bud that had a free hot tub......blah blah blah, everyone has that friend, right?  Well, I actually decided to take that friend up on his offer of the free hot tub and got a few buds last weekend to help me move it to the place.  It was the last day we could have done it given the weather.

It was quite the mission to bring it to town and get it into the back yard, but...., we made it work.

And then fast forward to this weekend......

Totally worth the effort!

Amazing.

Snowcross

Super cool event a couple of weekends ago in town.  Glad that the town council realized the positives that could be gained by hosting an event like this.

Finals......

I had never seen a snowcross race in person.  It is essentially motorcross but on sleds.  The King did an amazing job getting the event off given how little snow we had.

I thought that hill climbs was an expensive pursuit in the sled world, but....., it doesnt hold a candle to snowcross!  Easily a million dollar trailer here.

The crew.

Making due...

What started off as the best start to a winter I have ever witnessed here in early November, all of a sudden the mother nature snow hoses have turned off.  Luckily, having a sled makes high and dry pressure systems a hell of a lot more palatable in the search for decent snow.

Up high on Teton Pass.

 Looking north toward Rendezvous Peak.

We rode in to this area in the dark an were rewarded by being the first sledders into this zone for the winter and put our stamp on this beautiful blank canvas.

X Mas tree hunting...

A while back we went for a tree, but not before going for a strider ride in the neighborhood wit no gloves on and in pajamas, duh....

Twas a bummer to not have enough snow this year to ride the sled in to get a tree, but we made the most of it.

Helping me with his lil saw.

On the back, locked, loaded, ready to put in the house.

Waiting...

Winter has been making an attempt in the past couple of day of letting us know that it is December after all.

Work Wanderings....

To Alabama and back in 36 hours with 5 flights.  All in two days of work.  It is a grind, and it makes me really appreciate getting to travel for work almost exclusively via a car.

Denver airport sunset.

Somewhere over Arkansas.  It is pretty wild how many planes are flying across the country daily and just how close they are to one another.

Happy B day Chels!

What a treat it was to spend the day with Chels on her Bday.  It was perfection!

Waiting for more of the white gold.

A few shots from last weekend's  ride up on Togwotee.  It is, save for the Northwest, the best riding in the entire west right now.  The amount of trucks and trailers in all of the parking lots up there is pretty telling of how little snow there is all over the place.  It's cool......glad people are getting out and it forces us to dig a lil deeper to find the goods.

Me, after crashing into a tree picking out a new line and contemplating life.

 Me and said tree.....

 Drewski.

Looking south to the headwaters of the Green River and the Wind RIver range.

Life is good.

Cousin!

I became an uncle almost two months ago to "Olivia."  Over the moon excited for my sister Sarah and her husband Lennin and their new lil one.  Got to meet her down in So Cal.

Dash was really fired up too!

Already missing it!

Already day dreaming about the next trip down to SB.  Hoping to make it down once again in the spring, but one never knows.

It was a November to remember down there for sunsets.

 As happy as could be!

Downtown Carpinteria has it going on.  Love it here.

Maybe, quite possibly, almost certainly the best Strider bike zone in all of America?

Until next time.
