Work wanderings

Life is good when you can coincide a work trip and a bit of Yellowstone with the fam.  

Truly is a place like nowhere else on the planet.  

What it looks like attempting to get your son to take a picture after a long drive in busy Yellowstone.  

We got every plate of the 50 except Rhode Island and darn Hawaii.

Day 2 on the Gates.  Absolutely stellar!  

The beach scene was on like donkey kong.  

We had one night that required hunkering down and getting out of the elements.

Pretty much the best lunch spot I can think of.  We posted up here for a good two hours.

Just what the end of the summer need a vaca doctor ordered!  A totally bitchin river trip with good buds and six days of not seeing another human.

Finally....

The poor souls that have come to visit us in the last year know about the knee deep pot holes on our road.  Well, as of a couple of weeks ago, they be long gone yo!

 

Really cool.

We took the new craft out for a float on Sunday.  It is small, a bit tight for the entire family, but really awesome as it allows floating in super low water.  We had the river entirely to ourselves on Sunday.  

 

LOTOJA

Another year gone by, another big ride the second Saturday in September.  It was really hard this year.  Rain, cold, and I had to ride solo.

Under 9 hours later...., finishing in the pain cave.  I was really tired.  
 

Wow...

 Getting ready to head down to Logan, UT for the start of another LOTOJA.  This will be the first year our bud Hannah cant do it with Chels and a supporter.  She sent me this today.  Amazing! 

New addition

Well, an opportunity came up this week that I couldn't pass up, clearly!  Myself and a bud went halfsies on a sweet lil FlyCraft raft.  Cant wait to use it.  They obviously fit on top of a hippie wagon.  One guy can lift them.  They have an anchor, motor mount, and will be awesome for small and low water floats with the fam.  Really pumped.  

 

Sick day...

What a day home from school looks like on  a Wednesday in September when you are awaiting a Covid test.  

Chels and Dash made a volcano and did some reading.  Looks way better than work to me!

 

Making due...

 TNR tonight.  The fam is down to one vehicle.  And...., that one vehicle is not a truck!  

Laboring....

We didn't set out with the goal of improving our raised bed this morning when we woke up.  However, one thing led to another, and Dash and I spent the day getting it all buffed out so it will be back bigger and better for next summers grow season.  

We both enlarged it and put in a better deer fence too.  

None of it cost a penny as it was all done from scraps we have sitting around on the property.  

 Finished product.  Need to make a door come next spring.  Should be a hell of a lot better set up.
