Memorial Weekend Part 2

Memorial Weekend Part 1

We spent Memorial Day weekend in Dubois with two other families that have kids Dash's age. Although it wasn't exactly super sunny or warm, we managed to avoid any serious downpours over the weekend and had a great time. 

A hungry grizzly foraging by the side of the road on our way up and over Togwotee Pass. 

We camped on Ring Lake and the kids got out for daily paddles on the kayaks.

Of course we hiked around to check out the prolific petroglyphs in the area too.

The Artist

These are some of Dash's latest drawings. Usually we have to grab them before he tries to crumple them up, but loving the colors and creativity!

Some "book covers" he created for a pretend book series he calls, Takis Rock. Takis are a really spicy brand of chips that some kids at his school love and he recently was dared that if him and his friend Oliver ate 10 of them without running to the water fountain, they would get $3. Not sure if that $ ever materialized. : )

The fam was nice enough to come with me last weekend racing bikes over in Idaho.  

Gotta keep the crowd happy with ice cream.

I got first place overall and had a blast racing.

Busy kid these days.  Friday's it is school, to tennis, to dinner, to baseball batting practice, to soccer game!

Soccer is 4 days a week at this point which is just fine, because this guy is way into it!

New whip

 Hot damn.  This new ride is pretty damn rad.

Huge Hit!!!

Suffice to say.....the $15 I spent on these goalie gloves while out in Casper (an actual town that actually has something as simple as goalie gloves), Dash hasnt taken them off!  Dash asks for just about nothing in life ever.  That said, he has been making hints at wanting goalie gloves for weeks.  I brought them home and man ohh man, a huge hit.  
 

Huge hit as in....., he has been sleeping in them.  

Yahoo.  The snow in the backyard finally melted enough for daily games of soccer.  

Being 8

Dash's bud Charlie turned 8 last weekend.  Suffice to say, the indoor soccer center is a HUGE hit for bday parties!
