Doggies

Chels has been out of town for a few days back in Tahoe going to a wedding. I am here dog sitting for Case and Jess. So, I was lucky enough to have two loving labs greet me home from work tonight in lieu of Chels.

South Fork Goodness

Rolled to the S. Fork of the Snake over in Idaho for the weekend to float, fish, and hang out.

The weather was hot, swimming was mandatory, and life was good.

Cooking up dinner.

Cheers to you Rolfe, good times.

Teddy found some uneven ground along the way and looked like he had just got out of a 12 round fight. Icing things down to minimize the swelling?

Jason, fish deep.

Umm, yea. Even Teddy, who "doesn't fish" managed to land one.

Things that are not cool.

My truck got hammered last weekend by some guy making a lane change! Going to be out of commission until end of next week. Not cool.

Crawling out of Bed

Most weekdays this summer have started early for me. I really don't "love" when the alarm clock goes off at 5:30am like Chels claims, but getting a good road bike ride in before work is awesome. Traffic, tourists, and the heat are all at bearable levels that time of day. And......................., like this morning, you normally get treated to sunrises like this beauty.

Also, if you go early enough, you can poach private roads such as Saddle Butte and be somewhat assured all the owners of the muti-million dollar pads up there haven't gotten their coffee and or NY Times going yet, much less enough energy to call the cops on you for Trespassing!

I swear I was leading the Tour de France this morning riding solo down the buffed pavement thinking it was some stage in the Pyranee's!

Sunday Funday

On Sunday we opted for more water fun, so we decided to take Jess & Case to do the String to Leigh Lake portage with the kayaks and their canoe.

Here is Case being a manly man and hoisting their canoe for the couple hundred yards between lakes.

Another beautiful sunny summer day without a care in the world. Here we are on Leigh Lake which is kind of a nice quiet haven after paddling across String Lake, the summer playground for a hundred and one families with screaming kids!

Our own little piece of heaven, a sandy beach with an awesome view of Mt. Moran.

We all swam like little fishies...here is Jess's last jump off the front of the canoe, caught in mid-action!

Not straying far from the H20

We had another stellar summer weekend floating, kayaking and enjoying summer. Saturday was one of my co-workers birthday. She amassed a group of over 20 yahoo's to float and party. It was awesome!
Above Jess, Case, and their dogs roughing it.

It was the epitome of a "booze cruise". There were 9 boats brought on the float and not a single fishing rod! Lots of swimming.

Chels and Case taking in the scene.

We pulled over to jump some rocks along the way.

The flotilla marching under the Hoback Jct. bridge.

We managed to skirt a nasty storm at the end of our float that hit us just as we reached the take out. At one point we had 6 boats all tethered together.
