Linda in Jackson

My mom came to Jackson for a few days late last week and this weekend. Luckily she is a trooper and always up for any adventure. The weather was the shits setting records for high temps not getting above freezing in early October. We didn't let is slow us down getting a full diet of hiking, kayaking and hanging out.

At the Jenny Lake boat launch wondering if it really is October 10th?

The crowd factor is mellow on this fine Saturday

Paddling across Jenny

Ahh yes, a beach. Where are the Corona's, swimsuits and 80 degree temps?

Sorry to the Fans

Followers, fans, friends, and lovers of the blog:

Sorry, so sorry! We have been going through a serious catastrophe with our computer. In a nutshell, our hard drive took a digger and we lost all of our pictures. So........................, be patient, will be back on the scene asap. My mom was here the last few days, be on the lookout for shots from her trip soon.

Thanks for everyone's ongoing patience!

Trev and Chels (Stevie actually shed a tear and T/C are still in deep depression)

Early morning adventures

So the other morning we got up at the crack of dawn and drove out to take pics of the sunrise on the lightly frosted peaks of the Tetons...doesn't get much prettier than this.

'Tis the Season

We had the first measurable snow in the valley all day yesterday and last night. We bought our Snow King passes last week which will undoubtedly get used heavier this year with my new office being literally right across the street from the hill. Skiing on lunch breaks and night skiing are the best part of the in-town hill that gets heavily used by the locals.

Snow King still has the awesome distinction of being the cheapest season pass in skiing at $149. It was $99 for the first few years we were in town though, which, if broken down per day was less than a $1 a day for skiing (if you went every day).

Snapped this beautiful shot of my beautiful wife last weekend.

Is is really that early in the morning?

A couple mornings ago we motivated out to Antelope Flats Road to take some early sunrise shots of the Tetons. Keep tuned in early next week as we will post some of the best shots we took!

Yep, 15 degrees on the first day of October, that's Jackson for you.

It was a circus with all the pro and or hard core amateur photographers out there. We were of course the most ghetto outfit not even having a tripod.

Chels getting the shot

Went for a picnic today after a walk out in Kelly and along the Gros Venture River. Big news is that I got the Department of Family Services job! I found out yesterday after the application process lasted almost two months. I am so stoked for the new challenge in life. I will be working with juveniles in the probation program with the state of WY.

Ready or not here it comes

Yep, first snow of the year, have to admit, had me feeling a bit conflicted as to whether I was stoked or bummed?

Jogging up on Teton Pass, and yes, those are kind of tight pants, I know.

Glory Bowl in the background will be serving up fresh baked lines soon enough

Thoughts of making turns were pretty moot, rock boards wouldn't have worked for this coverage

Legitimately knee deep Sept 30th snowstorm. Check out the Grand Targhee website under "mountain" then "shot of the day" as folks over on the Idaho side were skiing today.

I know, pretty sissy mittens, however, Chels was freezing so we switched. Nice husband, right?
