Europe! Marco Rocks Tour: Part 1

So we got home a few days ago and are finally getting over the jet lag and getting adjusted to being home after an amazing two weeks in Europe. I want to go back already! Here are snippets of the trip with our 10 peeps!

We have arrived in Europe and training to Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland...our home base for the next 4 days. It feels like we have entered a different world already!

Training past Lake Interlaken and trying to figure out a way to make a beach house in Switzerland work...hmmmmmm......

Everyone is getting excited about the Lauberhorn downhill in Wengen!

Me, Trev and Liz...travel weary and excited to get there already!

We have arrived, but....where do we go? Can't go wrong, right?

Oh Liz, another ausfahrt.

And the group is starting to assemble, we met up with Adam and Katie, Lauren and Jason and Tim in Lauterbrunnen and had a celebratory cheers to start the trip!

View of the Lauterbrunnen valley from the train we had to take to get up to Wengen.

And we have arrived in Wengen, by train (the only way to get to this town) with a welcoming from Marco and Anna at the train station too. So stoked to be here and see Marco...and ski!

Heading up the tram...into the heavens.

Skiing down the backside of Wengen into the town of Grindewald.

This place is amazing.

Liz and Tim enjoying our half hour tiny gondola ride back up to the top.

Oh and did I mention, it was a powder day?

And can I say again how ridiculously gorgeous it is here?
Rolfe and Trev leading the way.

The top of the downhill course fenced off on the right...it's the day before the downhill, lots of work still to be done to clear the new snow.

This looks like a postcard right? People gathering to watch the downhill portion of the Super Combined race, some got up the mountain by train, with the Eiger looming in the background.

The Eiger and the train station in the middle of the mountain to take you up to the top.

Skiing down under bridges while the sun sets behind enormous peaks...pinch me please, just can't stop smiling!

Liz just can't get enough fondue.

Gathering with 5,000 other crazy ski racing fans for the awards and the bib draw for the downhill, can you feel the energy? It's electric. More pics to come...
