What a Trip! Here's from the beginning...

Ten days ago we set off for the Olympics to watch my brother, Marco ski in the Downhill and Super G races. It was such an amazing trip, so we'll start from the beginning with photos...

Idaho here we are! We started our trip with a visit to Trev's parents in Northern Idaho.

Schweitzer was our first stop...we got a foggy ski day at Trev's home mountain which he absolutely loved

A little walk up the road from the Robinson's ski cabin in Schweitzer with the beautiful views of Lake Pend Oreille in the background.

See I told you it was foggy!

We met up with an old high school bud of Trev's, Brian Landers, and got to ski with him which was awesome.

Hanging with Trev's dad, Rob back at their house in Coeur d'Alene

Mom Linda and their kitty Rue

Next stop was Seattle to pick up my mom and dad and Liz and off to Vancouver we went!

Olympics here we are!

This is the little Marco cardboard cutout they had at the USA house, isn't it awesome! Later dubbed "Flat Marco" : )

Liz and I posing with Flat Marco

The downhill was canceled from it's original date because of snow at the top and rain at the bottom, so we got a super-fun white-out blizzard ski day with Marco at Whistler! It was definitely our best powder day of the year so far!
L to R: Mary, Bill, Gordon Gray, Trevor, Chelsea, Marco, Liz Kenny, Keelan McNulty

Skiing! Yippy! Whistler/Blackcomb is the best ski area I have ever skied, so huge and so much to explore...Liz is scared just thinking about it!

We sported our Marco Rocks hats everywhere which ended up being the best friend-finder ever, we spotted all our friends from Tahoe who were sporting them and could always pick each other out in a crowd!

Gold-medal bobsled contenders!

I heart daylight

I am excited that I can get off work and ski all before it gets dark now. Tonight up on Snow King it was as pretty as always on my evening skin up the mountain. Another month until Day Light Savings ends, can't wait!

Friday Morning Commute

Well, this is what my morning commute looked like today! I wouldn't have it any other way and for all you poor souls stuck in real traffic, I am sorry you can't involve this into your morning routine like I am lucky enough to indulge in. These are shots from a before work mission Des Jennings and I took this morning. We haven't gotten a huge storm since last weekend, but little dumps have been adding up to keep things really fun.

Remember you can double click on any picture and make them larger.

This was such a memorable turn I decided to load up two of the sequenced shot.

My bud Des came along and scored some of his first turns on the north side of Teton Pass. Looks like he was a happy customer.

I thought this shot of him threading a line between the trees with only his goggles being obviously visible was a cool snapshot.

Des rippin.

I have been getting tons of shit for the brightness of my outfit this year. I accept it, but when you see how much lighter colors pop out of pictures, then you can start to see why I am taking it back to the 80's. Dark colors are impossible to see on low light days like this morning.

I like fresh powder a lot.

Skiing Pow before day break

I have been skiing before work in the mornings and loving it. I have a couple of options, if I want a shower before work then I start hiking at 6:20, if I want to roll straight into work without a shower, then I can start hiking around 6:50am. Regardless, I am treated to awesome pow turns and a beautiful sunrise before work every morn that I motivate to ski before work. It's awesome! A shot from this morning with the fog creeping up the valley towards Teton Pass!

Spring Skiing on the Snowmachines

Cody and I took advantage of one of the nicest days of the winter thus far and went sled skiing up on Angle Mountain on Togwotee Pass. As some of you well know, I originally got into snowmobiling to use it as an access tool for skiing. Well, of course I found out that snowmobiling is highly addictive in it's own right, and trying to go from a beginner to someone who only gets stuck a few times a day requires determination. Trying to ride around a 500 pound machine with slippery, stiff ski boots on isn't a lot of fun. So, that's why I don't mix my two favorite winter activities of skiing and snowmobiling like I used to or probably should. However, this weekend, we did just that and I was quickly reminded how fun it can be!

We sled skied all the way until after the sunset, enjoying the warmth of the sun and the solitude of untracked skiing.
You can just barely see the road that we built in this picture. Sled skiing takes time, patience, and a lot of effort. Often times there isn't any trail and or road to follow, so, you have to spend a couple hours going over and over the same line, side-hilling up a steep pitch essentially building a road. Once the road is built, then you ride double (not easy) up the road, drop the skier at the top, and then hook up at the bottom of the run and repeat! It's the poor mans helicopter!

Cody with nothing but the "road" that we built in the morning to keep himself company skiing down after I dropped him off at the summit of Angle Mountain.

Cody chilling scoping the commanding view on top of Angle Mountain where you could see all the way up into Yellowstone, over into Idaho, and up to Montana too.

Me having the best sled lunch I have ever created. I had slow cooked (10 hours) some pulled pork earlier in the week. So, I put the pulled pork between a yummy bun, wrapped it in some tin foil and......................

Put it on a really warm pipe on the inside of my snowmachine. It did the trick after a few minutes sitting on the hot pipe, I had a piping hot sandwich, pun intended! It melted the cheese to help create a masterpiece.

Full Moon Tubing

What better thing to do on a full moon than go tubing? Luckily our friend Jim's office literally shares a wall with the tube rental, so, we scored some free rentals and got after it.

Chels getting ready for a serious straight line to the b netting at the finish.

There was yet another torchlight parade over the weekend. This one to help kick off the sled dog race that goes from Jackson all the way down to Park City, UT taking a week to do it. It is one of the larger sled dog races outside of Alaska and starts on the town square in Jackson.

And the obligatory fireworks too!
