A view from the top deck of the beach house as the sun begins to set, this is the mandatory spot to watch the fading rays
Look at this beauty...we were soaking it up knowing we were heading back to Tahoe and possible snow..ugghh.
Yesterday we did our daily walk on the beach, hunting for beach glass in honor of Gammie, Trevor's grandmother who as his Uncle Pete said, "was a lover of all things beautiful". You can see why she adored this place!
After our daily boogie boarding session, we got in a great bike ride around the hills and through Carpinteria, which was quite a workout for me trying to keep up with Marco and Anna (keep in mind, they are both Olympians) on their road bikes while I trailed with Uncle Pete's old (but great, thanks Pete!) mountain bike! Needless to say, some beautiful margaritas made from all the bountiful citrus we could find were definitely in store!
We just happened to be lucky enough to be at the Beach House for the annual "Mike and Marti Fest", a great musical gathering of a bunch of old friends of Uncle Pete and Tim's...and what a great crew, they were...you can see all the bussle going on inside to prepare for another great meal.
We wrapped up our trip with a stop at the Santa Barbara Farmer's Market which was amazing and plentiful and full of the smells of summer, it got me excited for the season ahead! We got some flowers and avocado honey and oysters and Marco even picked up some Lime Marmalade.
I love the colors of summer...we all said that if we living here or somewhere with access to a Farmer's Market like this we would all live organically and probably be broke.
And now we are back home in Tahoe with overcast skies and great memories of Santa Barbara and the sound of the waves and the sand between our toes and the smells of fresh flowers and citrus...at least we all have residual sunburns to take home! Until next time!
